Public–Private Intersectoral Relations in Sub-national Governments (ES)

The online instructor-led courses are offered in a personalized mode with no more than 30 students in each class. Start and finish dates are clearly marked. Besides the online tools used for interaction in the virtual environment, courses provide students with continuous support from a technical assistant, the tutor and a program coordinator, who are experts in the course topics, and are able to offer effective feedback in all course activities and promote relevant discussion.

SOBRE ESTE CURSO

Strengthen relationships, actions, and interactions between the public and the private sector and promote economic development in the territory. We hope to stimulate the knowledge and skills of those responsible for issues such as economic development, employment, tourism development, and clusters within subnational governments, from public servants in charge of economic and product development issues and those in charge of local development agencies to those managers and facilitators over projects in the area.

PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS
The initial meeting will be open to participants that may have the following backgrounds: Subnational governments Directors or professionals that are public servants responsible for the development of intersectoral public–private relationships within subnational governments. Local development agencies and corporations Participants may be directors or professionals responsible for creating, developing, and consolidating relationships or projects with local government institutions. Project managers and/or managers of intersectoral relationships Participants may be development-agency professionals responsible for creating, developing, and consolidating relationships or projects with local government institutions. Additionally participants should preferably: Have completed university studies (no students will be admitted) Have at least two years of experience in the public or private sector, in a territorial development environment Have a basic knowledge of at least one of the following areas: economic development, urban development, competitiveness, social and production policies, design and/or implementation of production-support policies Preference will be given to applicants who belong to the same organization and/or who belong to distinct areas within the same subnational government.
COST & REIMBURSEMENTS
This course is subsidized through the Technical Cooperation of the INDES RG-K1196. The cost of the course is $700, and the IDB will award a grant equivalent to 80% of that cost for candidates who are selected and are from IDB member countries. Selected applicants must pay a $140 registration fee (nonrefundable), which will entitle them to access the INDES Virtual Classroom and its resources, permanent mentoring from the teacher-mentors, technical support for the operation of the virtual platform, and a certificate of course completion, for those participants earning a point total of 65 or more. The subsidy described above will NOT be given to participants from countries that are not members of the Bank or who belong to other international agencies.
